Boeings Advanced Design and Prototype Solutions (ADaPS) organization in Huntsville, AL is looking for an early career Software Engineer capable of contributing to all phases of the software development lifecycle (requirements, architecture, implementation, and verification). ADaPS is a problem solving team which specializes in using our software and systems engineering expertise to help Boeing solve tough problems and build excellent products. As an organization of nearly 100 engineers spanning software and systems engineering disciplines, ADaPS has supported programs across the entire portfolio of Boeing products including Space Launch Systems (SLS), Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Commercial Space Crew Transportation System (CCTS), B-52 Bomber modernization, the Navys MQ-25 autonomous airborne refueling platform, and multiple advanced missile defense efforts.
Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle (requirements, architecture, implementation, and verification).
Work in small to medium sized Agile teams composed of diverse engineering skills to tackle complex problems on a variety of programs.
Responsible for developing technical products, plans, documentation, and briefings in support of program requirements.
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. (Huntsville, AL)
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.
1 or more years of experience with at least one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Java, Ada, C#, Python.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience using common software version control tools such as Git.
Experience debugging and troubleshooting technical problems involving computer memory or timing considerations.
A positive attitude towards learning, software quality, and teamwork.
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).
In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
