Due to our continued growth and expanding portfolio, we are looking to add to our existing team.We are flexible on location and have offices in Shrewsbury and Birmingham. This role could be based in either location and we support hybrid working with a combination of office and home based working available.

We have a wide range of projects across the region including several major healthcare projects as well as some really exciting commercial, educational and residential projects in the surrounding region.

About You

An ambitious architect who is keen to flourish in a busy studio. You will have both design and technical skills and a strong eye for detail. A working knowledge of Revit will be an advantage and an interest in passive design and sustainability may also be considered a differentiating factor.

Required Skills & Experience

  • ARB Registered Architect with no less than 5 years post-qualification experience
  • Cross sector experience is preferred ideally in healthcare, residential, office, education and retail.
  • Already utilising Revit on a daily basis is preferable
  • Proven skills of managing and delivering projects from inception to completion.
  • You should have experience of working in a UK Architectural studio

K ey Responsibilities

  • Be an effective team member. Understand where your skillset fits within the team and collaborate with your team mates to achieve best outcomes for the project
  • Take receipt of a brief from an AHR Manager and with only limited intervention from them, develop it into a design in line with the RIBA Plan of Work
  • Contribute to and help co-ordinate the development of AHR's Pre-Construction Information in line with the RIBA Plan of Work and AHR's Deliverables and DRM
  • Achieve efficient and effective design solutions using robust and sustainable design solutions.
  • Prepare compliant designs by following UK Construction Law, British Standards and relevant CoPs
  • Choose or advise on material selection. Respect the limited availability of natural resources when making design decisions. Take into account design life and durability
  • Author specifications using AHR's NBS Masters. Source and evidence supporting and up-to-date technical information from the manufacturers in your project folders
  • Assist the Project Team with designing to a budget. On instruction, assist with value-engineering
  • Participate in Project Reviews and coordination workshops
  • Undertake proper and sufficient checking of self-authored information prior to forwarding to the
  • Project Lead for approval
  • Assist in gathering and preparing information required to support statutory submissions, such as Planning, Building Regulations and Building Safety Gateways
  • Negotiate with statutory bodies, write reports and complete statutory submissions (planning  applications / Gateway submissions / building regulations etc)
  • Use Document Control on your project(s) in line with AHR Protocols
