OverviewThe web developer is a member of PennyMac's Communications Team which is tasked with supporting executive messaging, culture initiatives, employee engagement, corporate learning projects, and the communication needs of teams across the company. We are searching for a web developer that is well-rooted in excellent page and site layout, designing for the user experience design, and leveraging web technologies to create engaging solutions.The web developer will leverage a solid knowledge and understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Google Sites to enhance our company's intranet's current role as a major internal communication medium and as a channel that projects our values and culture to a nationwide team of PennyMac'ers; explore and create new ways to elevate the site's features and offerings; and contribute to the strengthening of our culture by working with team members across the enterprise to create a digital workplace for their teams on the corporate intranet.Job Description* Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off* Conceptualize original website design ideas that bring simplicity and user-friendliness to complex ideas and challenges* Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to communicate interaction and design ideas* Present and defend designs and key deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders* Write well designed, tesspan, efficient code by using best software development practices* Create website layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS practices* Integrate data from various back-end services and databases* Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs* Create and maintain software documentation* Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our site* Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities* Cooperate with designers to match visual design intent* Work with editors, producers, and other designers to resolve technical and/or design issues* Research and analyze best web design and development techniques and solutions to create an engaging digital workplace experience.* Ensure compliance with company guidelines and design standards* Maintain and follow best practices for versioning control, naming convention, and organization of graphic files* Support various team projects as neededIdeal Candidate will have the following:Web developer skills* Proven work experience as a web developer* Understanding of good site design principles and the fundamentals of user experience (UX).* A knowledge and understanding of HTML 5, CSS, and JavaScript.* Experience with Google Sites, the Google Suite of applications, and Google AppsScript is a plus.Communication skills* Ability to collaborate with others and meet deadlines* Strong focus on meeting and exceeding client expectations* Seeks out, values, and applies feedback from peers, management, and clientsLanguages* HTML 5* CSS* JavaScript* Google Apps ScriptSoftware* Google Suite Apps, especially Sites, Gmail, Drive, Sheets, and Docs* Microsoft Office* ZoomProject Management* Ability to work independently* Experience with taking projects from conception to completion
