Job Description:

The DevSecOps Sr Assoc, Software Engineer 2 position concentrates on the set up and administration of pipelines and environments, Linux System Administration, Network Administration, and Security Compliance Operations. The position provides support of classified and controlled unclassified networks, servers, workstations, applications, and lab spaces.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have some understanding of programming languages like Java, JavaScript, C, C++ and Python

  • Have familiarity with popular CI/CD tools (Jenkins, and GitLab CI/CD) and Puppet, Docker and Kubernetes

  • Have proven competency within one or more of the following core Operating Systems: RHEL 5/6/7/8 Desktop and Server, Microsoft Windows (7/10/Server 2008/2012/2016/2019), Solaris (7/8/9/10)

  • Support one or more of the core OSs in an OS heterogeneous environment (Windows, Linux, Solaris, AIX)

  • Have experience with networking hardware and configurations (Cisco, HP, routers, switches, firewalls)

  • Have thorough, hands-on experience with network and server infrastructure technologies in the core OS (DNS, DHCP, NFS, Kerberos, LDAP, IPA, AD, GPO, Kickstart, pxeboot, puppet, patching, cloning/imaging, email server, central antivirus deployment, database server setup/maintenance)

Essential Functions:

  • Information System Architecture Planning

  • Project identification, prioritization, and tracking

  • Installation and hardening of systems and networks

  • Routine monitoring and inspection of secured systems

  • Configuration and management of backup technologies

  • Installation, maintenance, integration, and backup/restore of key software development tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, Artifactory, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.

  • Hardware lifecycle management, including evaluating new hardware needs and making purchase recommendations

  • Configuration instruction and procedure writing and peer review

  • Support DevSecOps Strategy and implementation across a 400+ person engineering organization

  • Manage Software Licensing and tracking across environments

  • Support Configuration Management needs across various environments

  • Support Remediation of Environments, solutions, and Infrastructure to address results of Pen Tests

  • Prioritize findings and support categorization of findings and POAMs

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience

  • OR Graduate Degree with a minimum of 0 – 2 years of relevant experience

  • The following may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree:

    • Associate’s Degree with with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience

    • High School Diploma with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Top Secret Clearance

  • B.S. Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology, or related field

  • Experience with Agile methodologies

  • Linux (RHEL/CentOS), Windows Server Operating Systems

  • Experience building pipelines and templates using Jenkins, GitLab, Artifactory and Kubernetes as well as experience setting up CI/CD pipelines

  • Infrastructure Services: DNS, DHCP, PXE/BootP, AD, FreeIPA/Kerberos/LDAP

  • File Sharing Services: NFS, SMB/CIFS

  • Logging: Elastic stack, Rsync, Syslog, Windows Event Log

  • Tracking and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence

  • Network administration such as Cisco, HP, routing, firewalls, DMZ

  • Coding: Java, C++, C, SQL

  • Scripting such as Bash, Python, Perl, Vbs, PowerShell

  • Repository and version control tools such as Bitbucket and GitLab

  • Build automation tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Gradle, Maven, Ant

  • Virtualization software such as Docker, vmWare, KVM, VirtualBox, HyperV

  • Orchestration service such as Docker Swarm or Kubernetes

  • Monitoring platforms such as Nagios, Elastic, Splunk, Zabbix, SNMP, etc.

  • Configuration management tools, such as Ansible, Puppet, Satellite, RDS/WDS or Chef

  • Cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, etc.

  • Security standards such NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, DISA STIGS

  • Accreditations such as Security+ CE, RHCSA, RHCE, MSCE

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
