Director, Core Technology Delivery

Overview of Position
The Director, Core Technology Delivery is a leadership role driving the creation of project/ program delivery strategies, including project plans, work breakdown structures, and resource management. Additionally, this leader will be responsible for the successful formation and delivery of key strategic initiatives including the acceleration of infrastructure and environment modernization in Core Technology. This will include efforts around data center consolidation and the reduction of technical debt. This role requires the ability to lead and motivate people, encourage teamwork, ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership, and possesses a clear vision of what determines a successful solution for the work effort and for the company. This is a significant role for Change Healthcare with the opportunity to execute on a large portfolio of projects and programs for our internal partners and customers. This position reports to the VP of the Technology Delivery organization


What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • This role is accounspan for guiding technical project managers in the achievement of project objectives with an emphasis on on-time and on-budget delivery, as well as cross-collaboration in a matrixed organization
  • This role will need to be able to solve complex problems that span multiple organizations.
  • Must have sufficient technical background to be able to anticipate, identify, and make accurate technology decisions.
  • He/She must be able to manage change and take active leadership in timely decision making.
  • Additionally, this role will be empowered to make decisions to ensure the ongoing success of key programs.
  • The role will need to develop and demonstrate an understanding of when they can make decisions, and when decisions need to be jointly made with IT leadership and/or other stakeholders.
  • The role needs to have very strong conflict and crisis management skills.


What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • Years of experience: 10+ of functional experience within Information Technology managing complex and cross functional programs and projects.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology field, or equivalent experience.
     

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • Relationship building: Ability to demonstrate active listen, build rapport, and credibility with our business partners and internal teams. Additionally, ability and comfort with working at executive levels.
  • Highly skilled and experienced at negotiating conflict and problem-solving to achieve win-win outcomes at executive levels
  • Exceptional ability to lead change using positive and collaborative methods
  • Ability to set expectations with business partners and effectively leverage governance for a positive outcome.
  • Ability to influence and break down silos within organizations as well as across organizations.
  • Be able to influence others, using personal rather than positional power.
  • Strong communication skills (writing, speaking, presenting).
  • Ability to manage large, complex projects through cross-functional teams (> 20 team members) working within a software development environment or hardware implementation cycle
  • Strong experience in C-level executive presentations and business case creation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment (someone who is calm, cool and collected in high stress environments)
     

How much should I expect to travel?

Less than 25%
