Compliance, Legal, Audit & Regulatory Technology (CLAR) provides technology support and development for Legal & Data Controls, Compliance Risk & Audit, Financial Crimes, Front Office and Second Line Risk, Employee Compliance, Regulator Regulations, Market Surveillance, and Regulator Change Management.

The eDiscovery team is seeking a .NET Core Software Engineer. This team member will work in a team environment to lead complex platform initiatives, research new technology tools, design complex solutions, develop best practices and standards, implement software solutions, write unit test, and test new development against business requirements across web applications.  This position will support IBM BAW Workflow tool and internally built Request Management System application.  Developers will oversee and ensure that all phases of our development lifecycle are 100% SDLC compliant.

This position works directly with our representative from architecture to determine the correct technical direction for application development. This person is our primary application architect, escalation point for complex technical issues encountered by development team members.

  • Position Responsibilities and Expected Outcomes:
  • Determining technical strategy and direction
  • Identifying skill development opportunities
  • Working with other technology teams across the enterprise to ensure common direction and compliance
  • Research and provide guidance on new and emerging technologies and architectural standards
  • Supports all aspects of application design, development, implementation and maintenance
  • Participates in creating project, application and support documentation
  • Primary point of escalation for any task or technical issues encountered by the application development team
  • Provide guidance and direction on production issues
  • Acts in the highest level technical role as an inpidual contributor and/or team lead for the most complex computer applications and/or application initiatives.
  • Utilizes a thorough understanding of available technology, tools, and existing designs.
  • Works on the most complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of intangible variance factors.
  • Plans, performs, and acts as the escalation point for the most complex platform designs, coding, and testing.
  • Leads most complex multiple modeling, simulations, and analysis efforts.
  • Acts as expert technical resource to programming staff in the program development, testing, and implementation process.
  • Acts in a lead technical role providing technical guidance and consultation with application teams, clients, and Engineering Managers for their technology domain environments including but not limited to cloud, middleware, operating systems, applications, Software-as-a-Service, and Platform-as-a-Service products.
  • Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents programs using Agile development practices.
  • Provides the strategy and design for projects associated with their technology domain including, upgrades and deployments.
  • Utilizes advanced technologies and methods to integrate their technology domain with other technology domains, enabling the creation of new or expanded heterogeneous environments.
  • Develops new documentation and departmental technical procedures.
  • Directs the gathering of performance statistics to assist in determining hardware and communication tools needed to support projected transaction volumes, response time and system availability targets.
  • As an escalation point, provides guidance and direction to less experienced staff in resolution of highly complex technical problems.
  • Leads projects and manages the work of less experienced staff.
  • Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported technology domain.

Technologies involved includes eDiscovery,.Net, .Net core XML, Tableau, and others.  The candidate must be experienced in various Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile, and have a solid understanding of technology and data.



Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience
  • 5+ years of .net experience
  • 5+ years of experience working with Relationship Database Management Systems (RDBMS) such as SQL Server, Oracle or MySQL
  • 5+ years of C#.NET experience
  • 5+ years of ASP.Net experience
  • 3+ years of eDiscovery experience
  • 3+ years of MVC (Model-View-Controller) Framework experience
  • 1+ year of JIRA experience



Desired Qualifications

  • An industry-standard technology certification
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • 2+ years of Agile experience
  • MS SQL server experience
  • Experience using the team collaboration software Confluence
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology testing: unit, integration, and system testing
  • Financial services industry experience
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in information technology
