Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is currently seeking Entry-Level DevSecOps Security Engineers to join our Product Security Engineering Team located in Seattle, WA.
The Product Security Engineering team is responsible for the cybersecurity and resiliency of Boeing products and services and we are looking for talented engineers to join our team. The work is multi-disciplinary and includes activities in cyber and systems security analysis, engineering, and vulnerability assessments and mitigation.
You will be joining a team of advanced security engineers from across the Boeing Enterprise, who are jointly developing best practices, techniques and tools, and a community to draw upon to deliver best value to our customers.
A successful candidate will highlight their interest and experience in software and system security, experience working in team environments, rapid prototyping, and supporting system and software development, integration and test. These systems cover information technology, as well as embedded systems, and other non-IT elements.
Position Responsibilities:As an integral member of the team, you will be:
Supporting the deployment our DevSecOps solutions to AWS GovCloud - transitioning systems from current environments to GovCloud, while continuing to support existing security infrastructures and environments.
Supporting product teams with adoption of DevSecOps tools and functionality.
Contributing to the development and improvement of security policies, process, and standards for software factories and DevSecOps environments.
Applying security and software assurance best practices for integration of security into the software development lifecycle and automating and enforcing those checks in pipelines.
Contributing to the development of cloud security architecture including managing security requirements and system security plans.
Supporting the development and operation of security-related infrastructure including Identity and Access Management, logging, monitoring, network flows and firewall rules, secrets management, incident response.
Supporting analysis including threat modeling and vulnerability scans to identify and prioritize risks, threats, and vulnerabilities.
Working with geographically-dispersed interdisciplinary team of IT, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Security Engineering, and Program Management professionals.
Security Clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
Experience developing software or DevSecOps automation tools.Prefer experience with Java, C/C++, Python, Terraform, Bash, or PowerShell
Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, standards, and practices
Experience with software version control systems.Prefer experience with Git.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post Start is required.
Preferred Qualifications/Desired Skills (Desired Skills/Experience):
Exposure to or experience with DevSecOps principles and tools, for example, IaC, CaC, SaC, Gitlab, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, Podman
Exposure to or experience with security tools, for example code analysis, OS hardening, vulnerability scanning
Experience with Linux or Windows functionality and configuration
Exposure to or experience with AWS cloud architecture and services
Experience as a member of an agile development team
Exposure to or experience with IOT or embedded systems, including product and cybersecurity systems analysis, design, development, and testing
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation is available for internal candidates.
