Boeing Commercial Airplanes in Everett, WA is looking for an Experienced Systems Engineer to join our Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) team. You will be responsible for developing and deploying MBSE capabilities and solutions informed by Enterprise Program needs and MBSE, Model Based Engineering (MBE), and Affordability Solution technological roadmaps.

This position will focus on supporting the 2nd Century Enterprise Systems (2CES) MBSE effort to develop and deploy the 2CES MBSE tool suite for Programs across BCA, as well as, the Enterprise. This position will perform a wide variety of Systems Engineering functions, ensuring our products meet performance requirements and are delivered to meet market needs. This position helps Programs develop system architectures in an MBSE environment. The candidate should have experienced in the Systems Engineering activities throughout the product life cycle (such as requirements development, system design, verification planning, and testing).

Successful candidates will work in a fast paced environment, working both independently and as part of team to develop and deploy capabilities that support Program start-up and execution. Strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to resolve cross-functional technical issues, and the ability to “see the big picture” beyond MBSE are ideal.

Position Responsibilities:
Applies experience and knowledge of Systems Engineering processes to the development and deploy MBSE / MBE solutions, including the tools, processes, and training needed to utilize the capabilities on a Program
Interacts directly with BCA and BDS Systems Engineering (SE) leadership, Enterprise Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Fellowship members, Boeing IT, and Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) resources to gain support and guide Enterprise resources for capability development
Integrates and tracks development performance and risks, issues, opportunities to ensure on-time performance with first-pass quality for major capability deployments to Programs
Responsible for developing requirements and capturing use cases, performing trade studies, developing, integrating, and testing new and modified capabilities in support of the MBSE solutions
Program outreach and communication with MBSE users, System Architecture Leads, and SE leadership
Identification and prioritization of program needs to improve 2CES MBSE tool suite
MBSE Startup for new and existing Programs
Generate reference and starter MBSE artifacts (such as reference system models, plans, etc.) enabling efficient Program start-up

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study in an engineering discipline, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
1 or more years of experience with requirements, designs, and design analysis
Experience with Systems Engineering Principles
Experience in Model Based System Engineering

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with systems architecture, requirements development and test & verification
Experience leading and/or performing analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance or other specialties engineering disciplines
Knowledge of MBSE tools and languages (such as CAMEO, SysML) is a strong plus
Knowledge of software languages and ability to write scripts and understand agile processes is highly desired.

Typical Education and Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
