Position Overview: As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting theresidents with their daily activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and overall well-being. You will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care and support,fostering a positive and nurturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and report any changes in residents' physical or emotional health to the nursing staff.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring residents are safe and comfortable.
- Support residents' nutritional needs by serving meals and assisting with feeding when necessary.
- Provide companionship and engage in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment for residents, ensuring their living spaces are tidy and well-maintained.
- Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure the safety and security of residents and staff.
- Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement personalized care plans for residents.
- Demonstrate empathy, compassion, and patience in all interactions with residents and their families.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in a healthcare or caregiving role, preferably in a nursing home or similar environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Empathy and compassion for elderly individuals, with a genuine desire to improve their quality of life.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations and infection control practices.
