We are recruiting for a Private Health Care provider who are looking to take on their fourth Recruitment Consultant.

Recruitment consultants are responsible for building and maintaining a temporary staffing desk. To actively participate in new business generation to ensure the sales targets are met. To monitor and manage any new business and to build strong relationships with clients and staff to ensure the desk runs effectively and productively. 

Recruitment consultants are responsible for attracting candidates and matching them to temporary positions with client companies. They attract candidates through advertising in a wide range of media, as well as by networking, headhunting and through referrals. They screen candidates, interview them, do background checks and finally match them to their clients. They work with client companies, building relationships in order to gain a better understanding of their recruitment needs and requirements.

The role of a recruitment consultant is very sales orientated, although it also involves helping individuals and organisations.

Job Content

A recruitment consultant's role is demanding and diverse and involves:

  • managing and growing a busy temporary desk for the company
  • Contributing to activities in order to develop the business. Using sales, business development, marketing techniques and networking in order to attract business from client companies
  • being responsible for your own case load of clients to ensure the service runs smoothly, dealing with issues that arise and implementing changes which need to be made to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness
  • working towards KPI’s, targets and objectives on a daily/weekly/monthly basis that may relate to the number of candidates placed, a value to be billed to clients or business leads generated
  • building relationships with clients and developing a good understanding of what they do, and their work culture and environment
  • telephoning staff on a regular basis to build and maintain a good working relationship and to establish their availability to work and record results on the Aspire system
  • being able to accurately identify and manage risk to self and others
  • dealing with complaints and passing any on to the Senior Temp Consultant and Office Manager depending on the nature of the complaint
  • establishing where there is a need for recruiting new staff, and drafting and placing adverts in a wide range of media e.g. social media, newspapers, websites, magazines, in accordance with the branch budget
  • headhunting - identifying and approaching suitable candidates who may already be in work
  • using candidate databases to find the right person for the client’s vacancy
  • taking an active role in the interview and selection process including, receiving and reviewing applications, managing interviews and selecting candidates
  • requesting references and checking the suitability of applicants before submitting their details to the client
  • briefing the candidate about the responsibilities, pay and benefits of the job in question
  • preparing profiles and correspondence to forward to clients in respect of suitable applicants
  • reviewing recruitment policies to ensure effectiveness of selection techniques and recruitment programmes
  • being responsible for your own quality assurance e.g. sending out and collating responses from staff assignment reports and client questionnaires in order to evaluate our service
  • attending client/team meetings both inside and outside of the company to discuss progress, performance, issues or concerns
  • acting as a counter signatory for the Disclosure and Barring Service if required
  • being an effective communicator at all levels, both inside and outside the business
  • being thoroughly professional at all times, working by example, and inspiring and influencing others to do the same
  • being an effective team player who achieves successful results through forward planning, efficient organisation of work, meeting objectives and working with others
  • Ensuring that own knowledge remains abreast of company regulations, Industry Best Practice Requirements and statutory legislation e.g. CQC regulations, DBS, new legislation/regulations which come into force. This includes employment, health and safety, statutory and contractual. This will be supported by the Office Manager and Senior Temp Consultant
  • taking a full and active role in your own supervision and appraisal process including the consideration of your developmental needs and the setting and meeting of any objectives
  • performing on-call duties on a rotational system and increasing your support when the company requires it
  • taking an active role in the management of a large pool of field staff

This is not a complete statement of all duties and responsibilities of this post. The post holder may be required to carry out other duties as directed by the Office Manager or Managing Director. The responsibility level of any duties should not exceed those outlined above.
