A Top 100 National law firm client in Exeter have instructed Chadwick Nott on an opportunity for an experienced litigation lawyer/healthcare to carry out an inquest role. Ideal for litigation lawyers looking for a change of direction or healthcare lawyers looking for a step up.

The successful candidate will be joining one of the top firms in Devon and recognised as one of the Top 100 UK firms. The work on offer encompasses a broad caseload, that includes conducting health-related inquests (including advocacy) primarily for the NHS, as well as working for independent health and social care clients and local authorities. There will also be a variety of cases of advice on health and social care advisory issues, including mental health, mental capacity and deprivation of liberty, medical treatment decisions and welfare planning disputes, safeguarding, access and funding disputes and continuing healthcare / Individual Funding Requests, information governance / DPA / FOI, judicial review and Human Rights Act claims.

If successful, you would be joining a well-established team and given support to fully develop your career and interest in the healthcare sector. Candidates with strong litigation experience from top quality firms will be considered, however experience in inquests and/or health and social care advisory matters: general community care matters including mental health, mental capacity including health and welfare applications and s21A MCA 2005 challenges, adult safeguarding, ordinary residence, professional advisory on health and social care legal matters including consent, Continuing Healthcare, access and funding, direct payments, immigration, judicial review and human rights claims are particularly desirable.
