The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Mid-Level Advanced Systems Software Engineer to join the F18 Advanced Systems team located in St. Louis, Mo. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

This role will involve development of real time embedded software, analyzing and debugging software issues, and working in an Agile, collaborative environment. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to play a key role in developing and maintaining software to support customer requirements including product development, prototyping, integration, test, delivery, and demonstration to the customer

Position Responsibilities:
Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems

Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system

Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met

Performs software project management and software supplier management functions

Develops, selects, tailors and deploys software processes, tools and metrics

Executes and documents software research and development projects

Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations

Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards

Works under general direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:
This position requires the ability to obtain a SECRET US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Ability to obtain SECRET US Security clearance (Post-Start).

Required Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Ability to obtain SECRET US Security clearance (Post-Start)

Experience with embedded software development using C.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Demonstrated self-starter

Possesses strong understanding of tactical fighter mission systems architecture and avionic subsystems

Comfortable working in teams or alone with minimal direction under varying and sometimes loose requirements.

Ability to focus on innovation and the art of the possible.

Experience working as part of an agile software development product team.

Leadership experience/abilities and ability to train or mentor junior engineers

Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience)

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Travel:
Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%.

Relocation:
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
