Focus on operations, and inventory activities, transactional integrity and providing informative analyses of the operations to Division and Plant management. Committed to working in a team-oriented environment and providing financial insights and analysis to other departments with a service attitude. Provide supervision of one Operations Senior Accountant.Your primary responsibilities…* Act as finance representative on the Plant Leadership Team for the Mogadore, OH location* Oversee all accounting related processes at the Chemicals plants/Distribution centers (Mogadore, Chester, Fitchburg, Calhoun, Akron);* Provide financial decision support, analysis, reports, and training to Manufacturing (Directors of Operations and other plant leadership);* Maintain and update cost systems that support operational improvement including margin analysis and cost reduction initiatives;* Develop and maintain KPIs to ensure sustainment of the plants financial priorities;* Support Manufacturing Managers in the preparation of department budgets, develop budgeted standard cost by product, and coordinate information for the annual budget;* Perform variance analysis with an understanding of the root cause and help in the execution of an improvement plan;* Ensure inventory is accurate and prepare monthly analysis;* Coordinate annual physical inventories at all domestic legacy chemicals plants, ensuring that recorded quantities accurately reflect on-hand inventory;* Actively seek continuous improvement to systems which support financial closing, analyses, and needs of other functional areas;* Month end journal entries and analysis.* Other duties as assigned or requested.What we need from you…* Bachelor's degree in Accounting* 5+ years of operations accounting experience in a manufacturing environment required* Ability to understand and assimilate new ideas and manage change.* Ability to grasp business concepts and issues.* Must have advanced knowledge of Excel and ERP systems (BPC experience is a significant plus).* Willingness to aggressively set and achieve goals with a minimum of direction.* Demonstrated ability to make decisions and take actions to solve problems.* Must have a continuous improvement mindset / philosophy.* Must possess a sense of urgency and adherence to deadlines.* Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of associates and work in a team environment.* Good planning and organizational skills combined with strong written and oral communication skills.* Ability to travel up to 10%* Must be dependable and trustworthy.* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Qualifications that can set you apart …* CPA or CMA a plus* BPC is a plus* Lean Six Sigma CertificationWhy Synthomer?At Synthomer, we're redefining career development.
