CommScope is hiring a Process Engineer II in Shakopee MN

As a member of our Venue and Campus Network's New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineering team, you will work with inter-functional teams to define, develop, and launch new products and improve existing processes. These fiber products will support the business units’ portfolios and growth requirements to meet industry demands such as 5G. More specifically this includes:

  • Providing technical direction to all phases of the NPI process and ensure that projects are effectively executed per the Product Development Policies (PDP).
  • Coordinate with the Project Managers, R&D, and the Site NPI Engineers to develop schedules, identify resource requirements, implement standardized manufacturing equipment and processes to ensure high quality and cost-efficient products. Assist with the implementation of new equipment, standardized processes and work instructions in global factory locations to reduce the operator dependency and improve product quality
  • Support product development by ensuring design for manufacturing (DFM), validate production readiness and create test reports and work instructions for smooth transition into the factories
  • Assist Global NPI team on performing pFMEA’s, Value Stream Maps (VSM), process capability, and through-put analysis on new processes and products.
  • Analyze production data from global factories to determine potential area’s for improvement.
  • Collaborate with material suppliers and equipment vendors to introduce new technology. Collaborate with the automation team to develop new processes for automated equipment
  • Validate production processes and equipment in a Prototype Lab prior to implementing into the global manufacturing locations
  • Contribute to the intellectual property portfolio through trade secrets, patents and invention disclosures that have immediate or future potential benefit to the company
  • Travel to global production locations to support development and deployment
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years’ of engineering experience preferably in mechanical, chemical, process or industrial engineering
  • Capable of analyzing data using Excel or Minitab and use statistical methods to assess process performance prior to and during product, process, and equipment development
  • Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal abilities with proficiency in using MS Office applications.
  • Our ideal candidate would be a highly motivated individual, excellent planner with a strong sense of ownership and ability to pay attention to details
  • Ability to collaborate with Automation, R&D, PLM, Quality, and global site Mfg/NPI Engineers
  • Must be willing to travel internationally 10% o 15% of time under safe travel conditions

You have worked with Fiber Optics and are Lean Six Sigma black or green belt certified. Have experience with manufacturing, electronics, molding, plastics, heat shrinks, epoxy, polishing, cleaning, test systems. Experienced in SAP, SharePoint, Power BI. Proficient in Spanish or Chinese
