Job Title: Research Associate
Pay: $42.86 per hour
The Oncogenesis TRC is seeking a wet-lab Senior Research Associate contractor to assist the development of novel targeted protein degradation agents that target cancer-specific pro-survival pathways and to define their underlying mechanisms of action. The successful candidate will have well-documented experience in cell biology and biochemistry, especially plate-based viability assays, FACs, western analysis, CRISPR, lentiviral transduction, and cloning. The candidate will work collaboratively in a dynamic laboratory that uses computation, cell-based models, protein biochemistry, and mass spectrometry to identify and characterize oncology pathways. Our perfect candidate will exhibit excellent organization and a passion for science and the lab.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Plate- and FACS-based cellular assays to characterize project compounds
• Gain/Loss of function experiments to elucidate mechanism of action
• Document, interpret, communicate, and troubleshoot results
• Contribute to collaborative efforts
• Wet-lab experience using routine molecular, cellular, and genetic tools:
o Cell culture, plate-based viability assays, FACS-analysis, western-blotting, lentiviral packaging/transduction, standard plasmid cloning
• Experience with CRISPR or RNAi desired
• Windows, Excel, and a graphing software solution such as Prism GraphPad.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Strong desire to learn new biology and techniques
