Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RIS) is growing! We have an immediate leadership opportunity for a Systems Engineering Section Manager / IPTL to support program area responsibilities for a new section in the Radar Sensor Systems Department within our ISRS Mission Area. This position entails being a section level leader to a multi-disciplinary systems group as well as a team member contributor on programs. The program work will center on sensor sustainment as well as proposal support for new products and customers.

The Section Manager will perform full system lifecycle development including requirements analysis, design, implementation and testing, hardware integration and test, system level integration of sensor systems; participate in system gates and independent reviews, etc.; perform functional administration tasks for a team of up to 15 engineers - ensuring work is on schedule and on budget, that adequate resources (personnel and assets) are made available, providing technical guidance, developing career paths, facilitating alignment with engineering command media, guiding productivity improvement and risk mitigation. The Section Manager will interact frequently with Team Leads, Chief Engineers and Program Managers; collaborate with engineers from other disciplines, and ensure consistent application of engineering best practices.

Three quarters of the Section Manager's time will be committed to the role of Engineering IPT Lead (IPTL) for a sensor sustainment program. The IPTL will be responsible for leading engineering team execution for hardware in-service engineering, system health, and RAM&T efforts. The IPTL will be responsible for cost and schedule performance as a CAM, and will have significant interaction with the customer, program manager, program chief engineer, and lead systems engineer.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 10 years of related experience in engineering systems and hardware development (RF, EO/IR sensing systems, radar, etc.); requires a strong understanding of radar design and development processes (requirements development, SE artifacts, trades, etc.)
  • Technical leadership experience managing geographically and technically diverse teams including working with Program office and Customer teams throughout the entire systems / hardware life cycle.
  • Strong program analysis, project planning, and execution skills, including prior experience with cost estimation for proposal activities.
  • Team management experience such as performance evaluations, training and mentoring, facilitating career development of team members, etc.
  • Superior communication and writing skills such as generating technical documents, developing/delivering presentations, etc.
Must have an active and in-scope DoD Top Secret U.S. security clearance.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with radar system development and sustainment
  • Experience with system development and integration in a JSIG-compliant environment
  • Raytheon (R6s) Six Sigma Certification
  • Experience with mission system requirements and architecture development; conducing requirements management using the DOORS tool as well as DNG.
  • Experience with RSS products
  • Experience with BOE creation and proposal technical writing
  • Experience with formal systems and/or software architecture methods
  • Experience with MBSE and various AFPD development tools

Required Education:
Bachelors of Science in a related STEM discipline, such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or Mathematics.186708
