Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Huntsville (AL) . We would also consider Colorado Springs (CO), Saint Louis (MO), Austin (TX), Boston (MA), or Atlanta (GA). We invent the future with short-duration projects in areas of Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing, Text and Data Analytics, Virtual and Augmented Reality, 3D Visualization, Speech Recognition, Custom Software Tools, and Modeling & Simulation.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, self-starter that has a history of solving problems with unique software architectures, algorithms, and applied Open Source Libraries. The chosen candidate will be expected to implement creative solutions, participate in the Patent process, and demonstrate their accomplishments to leadership. The chosen candidate can expect the following responsibilities:

Position Responsibilities:
Coordinate user/customer needs into GUI layouts and functionality

Architect and code new software or modify existing software

Rapid software prototyping for demonstration

Debug software and participate in peer reviews

Determines daily tasking to achieve and demonstrate goals

Consult with experts, participate in a team, and work independently

Write or review documentation (text or video)

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate may be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

6+ years of software engineering with either Java, C#, C++, or Python

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
2+ years of experience as a full-stack developer: GUI (desktop or web), logic, databases, interfaces

2+ years of experience with software repositories such as GIT, SubVersion, or CVS

Experience with consuming and writing REST, SOAP, or Apache Kafka services

Experience with Label Property Graph Databases such as Neo4j, Tigergraph, or MemGraph

Experience with innovative solutions, inventing, and applying for a Patent

Experience with Natural Language Processing, Text Analytics, or Apache Lucene

Experience with Cameo Modeling, or other SysML architecture tools

Knowledge of building and deploying applications using Maven and Tomcat

Knowledge of DevSecOps tools such as JIRA, Jenkins, or Coverity

Experience with working in a fast pace, agile environment

Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
