The Intelligence and Space Mission Area Systems Engineering Team is looking for Systems Engineers to support several programs. You will support the accomplishment of engineering tasks in an iterative development environment. You will provide technical direction and clarification of requirements to software agile development teams, integration and test personnel, performs system engineering analyses including trade studies, use case development, requirements definition and derivation, interface definition, and requirement validation and verification and supports planning / development and interfaces with personnel from other organizations. The Systems Engineer attends technical interchange meetings with the team members and other program personnel, and represents the organization in matters pertaining to the development of their project, provides status on assigned Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) tasks as required and provides document review and resolves technical systems engineering and integration issues. Additionally the Systems Engineer supports Engineer Change Process (ECP) efforts. In additional to program efforts the candidate may be asked to support various proposal efforts. This candidate must have the ability to manage time and resources in order to meet assigned deadlines.

This position is eligible for a sign on bonus of up to $12K for a candidate with a current TS/SCI with that can be verified and hired at RIS.

  • Demonstrated engineering experience with a track record of results
  • Thorough understanding of the Systems Engineering development lifecycle and change management process
  • Experience in systems engineering functions including: operations concept development, System and product design, requirements management, technical risk management, interface definition and control
  • Familiarity with Cloud Architectures and deployment requirements for US DoD
  • Experience in the operational deployment of multi-product baselines and functionality
  • Knowledge of and experience working in a requirements management tool (DOORs)
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with and communicate with all levels of management and team member contributors on the program
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of tools
  • Current active Top Secret clearance

  • Systems Engineering experience on a large government software development contract
  • Experience with complex satellite ground systems, particularly previous deployment of developed systems to ground station operations
  • Experience with Ground equipment/Radio Frequency (RF) equipment
  • Experience in integration, and/or verification and validation
  • Experience in Systems Engineering process development and deployment
  • Experience as a Product Owner or Scrum Master
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Enterprise Architect and JIRA or similar tools
  • Experience working in an Agile or DevOps development environment, being part of a highly integrated team working closely with Software, Integration and Verification teams
  • Experience with Earned Value Management Systems/EVMS
  • Qualified Six Sigma Specialist or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related STEM Degree Program with 6+ years’ of relevant experience - OR
  • Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related STEM Degree Program with 4+ years’ of relevant experience
